Chicken or the Egg

Genesis 1:22-23

22 And God blessed[1] them, saying, “Produce fruit and multiply, and fill the waters of the seas, and let the birds multiply on the land. 23 And (there) was evening and (there) was morning… the fifth day.

After God created the first of the living, moving things in the sea and the sky, He blessed them.  Not only did He see that they were good on this occasion, but He put His seal of approval.  He did something that made them “happy.”

After this, God instructed the sea-creatures and the birds to produce fruit and multiply.  Reproduction began as a command from God immediately after creation.  So, the chicken came first, not the egg (well, the chicken will come first tomorrow … I think, since they neither fly no live in the sea.)

Then another evening passed and another morning came and the fifth day was finished.

The whole discussion around creation is one of faith.  i.e.  Do I trust the Bible? or Do I trust those who say the Bible is wrong?   It takes as much faith to believe in “a big bang” and “evolution” as it does to believe that a loving God created and maintains the universe… and there’s more evidence (in my mind) to back up God’s creation, and this is supported by many scientists, some who don’t even have a religious affiliation… they just believe the only answer is that “something or someone” created the universe.

Father, help me to see the truth, and put my faith in You.  Thank you that it’s not blind faith, but faith that You lead me into.  Please let Your presence move with me everywhere I go, or I don’t really want to be there.

In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
