My experience is that God does supply all my needs, and my choice is to either trust him or to sin…

Genesis 31:8-10

8 If (it was) like this, he said, ‘The spotted[1] (goats) (will be) your wage,’ (then) all the flock[2] gave birth to spotted[3] (goats).  And, if (it was) like this, (then) he said, ‘The striped[4] (goats) will be your wages,’ and all the flock[5] gave birth to striped[6] (goats). 9 And God snatched the livestock[7] from your father and He gave it to me. 10 And it was, in time, the sheep and goats mated[8], and I lifted up my eyes, and I saw in the dream, and, look, the male goats[9] going up onto the flock[10] were striped[11], spotted[12] and dappled[13].

Application

So, we see that Laban had tried on several occasions, ten, if verse 7 was literal, to change Jacob’s wages.  If Jacob’s wages were the spotted babies, Laban would observe that the spotted kids were more prevalent, and he would change Jacob’s wages to the striped ones.  If the striped ones became more numerous, then Laban would change the wages again.

The thing is that Yahweh had appeared to Jacob in a dream and God showed him how He was causing the flock to mate with the very coloured animals that would be Jacob’s wages.

God is in control.  He’s providing for me.  I have nothing to fear, and even when I feel cheated or disadvantaged or unsuccessful, or however else I might feel, God is still working every single thing together for my good… for here on earth and eternity (not just eternity after I die).

My experience is that God does supply all my needs, and my choice is to either trust him or to sin… most people would excuse it as worry or fear, but worry and fear are unbelief and demonic.

Prayer

Father, please help me to trust You.  I give You every concern, all my work, and all those who might be using me or taking advantage of me unfairly.  You are judge, not me, and I release them and every situation to You.  Please help me to do what You want, and not focus on what others might, or might not, be doing.

In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
