Let Go & Let God Handle It!

Psalm 43
1 Judge my case, God. Fight for me against an ungodly nation and rescue me from dishonest and evil people. 2 You are the God (who gives me) strength. Why have you rejected[1] me? Why do I go around gloomily (under) pressure from my enemy?
3 Send your light and your truth. Guide me and bring me to the hill that is set apart for you. (Bring me to) the places where you live.
4 I will go to God’s altar. (I will go) to Mighty God (who is) my great joy. I will praise you God on the stringed instrument. (You are) my God.
5 Why is my soul bowed down in grief? Why are you troubled inside me?
Expectantly wait for God. I will keep praising him. Salvation[2] (comes from) God’s presence.
[1] “stink/smell/reject” [2] “jesh’ua” God is my salvation
Application
I can’t afford to fight my own case. It’s spiritually unhealthy for me to hold onto grudges and go around declaring how unfair things are. I need to let go and let God handle my affairs instead of getting in his way. He is in control. He has an answer to all the problems I face.
He is the one who gives me strength so that I can do the things that he’s called me to do. I need to have the wisdom to know what I’ve been called to and what’s just my own idea. God hasn’t rejected me and I probably need to get out of the habit of blaming him for the things that go wrong. The great thing about psalms is that they highlight the humanness of the writers.
The truth is that I’m not to feel under pressure from my enemy. God has them under control. I need to rejoice. It’s a command and it doesn’t depend on circumstances: “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing and in everything give thanks for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
I need to be looking for God’s light and his truth. He has sent it. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life,” and John said that the Light had come into the world referring to Jesus.
My job is to go to God, to praise him with my whole being, not just because I want something, but because he is God and he has already done more than I could imagine for me.
Prayer
Father, I am going to keep praising you. Please forgive me for getting out of sorts and letting the enemy have a foothold in my life. I want your joy and your peace. Accordingly, I let go of every offence and every hurt. I forgive every person who has offended me and renounce all involvement with the spirit of offence.
I break you power offence and in Jesus name I tell you to leave me now.
Father, I commit my whole life to you and ask that you’ll show me how to have a sweet spirit that honours you at all times.
IJN Amen
